art

custom embroidery

I’ve been actively making visual art in different media for much of my life, but delving into fiber art techniques such as embroidery and weaving fundamentally changed my practice. In 2016, I began making a wide variety of custom embroidery focusing on geography and place under the Knot to Scale brand. I was a vendor at several craft marketplaces including Pittsburgh’s Handmade Arcade.

Though I’m no longer actively seeking commissions, my art practice continues to be informed by place, history, and data visualization.

social justice

Soon after I started embroidering, I began exploring ways to incorporate census data, the environment, and historical maps into my artwork. Some works in this vein I have sold for charitable causes.

I continue to seek new ways to infuse my artwork with socially informed messaging.

diy

Learning new creative processes is one of my great joys. I’ve been brewing beer, mead, and cider since 2013 and remain interested in a variety of DIY projects both for fun and home improvement.
