Colin Williams (he/they) is a writer, artist, educator, and music critic. He has a BA in English and German from Macalester College and an MFA in fiction writing from the University of Florida. He lives in Pittsburgh with his partner and two bad cats.

As a journalist, Colin covers topics ranging from the heavy metal underground to Pittsburgh culture and daily news. As a creative writer, he focuses on realism informed by social awareness and historical detail. His embroidery and other visual art focuses similarly on place and its connection to people’s lives.

Professionally, Colin spent a decade working in arts education. He has extensive experience teaching, designing curricula, consulting with administrators, and marketing programs. Most recently, Colin worked full-time at Arts Ed Collaborative, where he facilitated professional learning for educators, managed social media, wrote grants, and more.
